Kareem Queeman, also known as Mr. Bake, discovered his passion for baked goods at a young age while growing up in Harlem, NYC. Throughout his career, he has worked in some of the top bakeries in NYC and the DMV.

 

Mr. Bake is renowned for his bold and artistic cakes and dessert displays and has earned multiple awards and recognitions. His biggest accomplishment to date is being named a 2023 James Beard Foundation Award semifinalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef and Baker, making him the first male of color to receive this recognition.

 

After the loss of his mother in 2017, Mr. Bake made it his mission to represent black and queer bakers on a national scale. His appearances on various television shows and his decade in business with his dessert studio, Mr. Bake Sweets reflect his dedication to making a meaningful impact in the culinary world.
